Special Guests from Schaad Construction and Real Estate Division!

We continue our Energy Efficiency Series by bringing Schaad Construction and Real Estate Divisions into our studio. Rick Atherton, project manger joins us to discuss the construction techniques designed by our previous guest, Roderick Jackson @ ORNL. Rick’s construction team consistently build the highest energy rated homes in the South East and perhaps in the United States. Schadd Construction is one of a very few number of contractor that actually build home under the Energy Star Rating standard. Schaad is committed to using the latest science on Energy Efficiency in their new homes and proudly have been a partner with ZEBRAlliance.

Also this hour we are joined by Alec Blaine, Principle Broker with Schaad Real Estate. Alec is marketing 4 of the most energy efficient houses in the nation! These homes, located 10 minutes from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) are on the market and available for closing with an occupancy date of March 2013. These homes are the product of the ZEBRAlliance, a public-private partnership founded by ORNL and Schaad Companies. The four homes, located in the Crossroads at Wolf Creek subdivision in Oak Ridge TN, use significantly less energy than a traditionally built new home, while providing similar amenities.

Located at Cross Creek Place, Oak Ridge Tn.

Schaad Residential Real Estate is committed to the work ethic and trust revered by the Schaad family who immigrated to East Tennessee from Switzerland in 1870. For the Schaads, a family’s home is very important. Each residential transaction is treated with precision and care.
